extending space:
Unlike normal beer gardens, a Schanigarten is situated on public property and in most of the cases on parking lanes. In order to operate a Schanigarten in Vienna, an establishment needs an authorization according to road traffic or trade regulations. For example a pub can thereby effectively extend their seating area on public property at minimal cost.
Unfortunately an art club (like AFG) has no right to apply for a Schanigarten. Therefor we applied for a construction site permit, wich follows similar regulations. SCHANIGARTEN # 2 looks like a bastard between a construction fence, a petting zoo and a beer garden. It is entirely made of the material of the AFG’s deconstructed intermediate ceiling.
